07/31/2026 “Austin” is a juvenile green sea turtle who arrived at the hospital on July 31st, 2026. He was found washed ashore in Fort Myers and is missing most of his right front flipper and some of his rear right flipper due to interactions with a shark. Upon examination and removal of carapace epibiota, staff found old injuries present as well. He was admitted to a tank at 10 ppt salinity with low water. Staff took a weight and blood sample. He was offered some seafood after arrival and he foraged some squid and capelin.
