This turtle was found floating along Casey Key. It was brought to the Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Hospital for evaluation and care. The turtle is extremely anemic, extremely lethargic, and extremely emaciated. We are doing initial workup, but are considering humane euthanasia as the turtle is in such bad shape.
8/30 Turtle died this morning. Necropsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
8/31 Necropsy revealed multiple system organ failure.
