At Home With Mote for ages 6-14

Inspired by our Homeschool Days, #AtHome is a secure, interactive and fun virtual program. Join us as we explore the wonders of the ocean from your kitchen table! Learn about a variety of magnificent marine life, ocean conservation issues, and marine science research. #AtHomeWithMote is intended for ages 6 through 14. Learning Labs for High School Students

Mote’s Learning Labs are a series of virtual, interactive college and career preparatory labs that will provide students the opportunity to develop and hone professional skills for future STEM careers. Participants will gain basic knowledge in marine science concepts and experience in lab/field work. Additionally, marine science professionals will introduce participants to a variety of career opportunities and conduct career explorations. The intention of this program is to offer participants a head start toward their future goals in STEM and advance the next generation of STEM professionals.

Learning Labs take place monthly on Wednesdays from 5:00 to 8:00PM, via a secure Zoom webinar connection. Registration for each Learning Lab is required. Click below for dates, program topics, and to register.

Mote SEA Trek virtual field trips are live, two-way, interactive virtual experiences between you and our laboratory in Florida. We can see and hear your learners and they can see and hear us. Award-winning lessons are based on the 60+ years of marine research at our lab. Lessons are available up to 30 or 60 minutes in lengths with options for PK-12th + Lifelong Learners. Coral Bleaching Identification Guide - FL Keys Coral Reefs

If you're spending time in the Florida Keys, you can support coral reefs by finding and reporting signs of coral bleaching. Bleaching occurs when high temperatures or other stressors cause corals to lose the beneficial algae that give them color and nutrition, which leaves the coral looking white.

Seafood Watch® Program From Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program empowers consumers and businesses to make choices for a healthy ocean, helping to support diverse marine ecosystems for the future.

Using science-based, peer-reviewed methods, Seafood Watch assesses how fisheries and farmed seafood impact the environment and provides recommendations for seafood Best Choices, Good Alternatives and items to Avoid. Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium partners with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program to promote sustainable seafood messaging.
