Coral Reefs & Ocean Acidification - Endless Oceans Class (Virtual)

Welcome to the wonderful world of corals. In this virtual class we introduce coral ecology and their important role in the environment. We will discuss the changes researchers are observing in corals around the world and the causes behind them. This lesson will feature Mote’s research with coral resilience and restoration efforts in the Florida Keys.

Key topics: Coral ecology, Ocean Acidification, Coral Bleaching, Status of coral reefs around the world, Climate Change

Each class will offer an optional “Active Learning” component from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. where participants will participate in hands-on learning activities related to the day’s topic.

Please Note: This class is part of Mote's Endless Oceans: Marine 101 course. Semester and single class registration available. Pre-registration is required. Ages 18 and up only.
