Girls interested in science — especially sharks, skates and rays — are invited to a free meeting of the Gills Club from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th at Mote Marine Laboratory. The meeting includes hands-on activities based on current research and the introduction of a researcher.
Mote is partnering with Atlantic White Shark Conservancy, which created the Gills Club, to bring science to more girls in our community. The Gills Club is geared toward girls ages 6-13, and families are also welcome.
Sharks are at the top of the food chain in virtually every part of every ocean. This month we will explore the complex roles of Sharks in the Food Chain and learn how important they are to maintaining healthy oceans. Be sure to bring your appetite for knowledge and fun!
Participation in the Gills Club events is free but does not cover visiting Mote Aquarium. RSVP is required for all meetings of the Gills Club and children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and registration is taken on a first come, first served basis and will close the Friday before the event at 5:00 p.m. (or sooner if we reach maximum capacity).
Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions or to cancel your reservation.
