Presentation Title: How many males are there? An examination of sea turtle paternity.
Description: Sea turtle researchers know a lot about female behavior. They come up onto the beaches to lay their eggs, making them accessible for study. But males stay in the ocean and their behavior is hard to witness, leaving us with a data gap. This gap is incredibly important to the species recovery. Using what we know about mating behavior, we can quantify males through paternity analysis and determine how many males there could be in our population.
