Agave was humanely euthanized due to a poor medical prognosis.
01/06/2019 Turtle originally stranded at Hurricane Pass, Fort Meyers Beach in Lee County. Turtle was found floating/unable to dive by a fisherman and was transported to Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife for rehabilitation. Exam revealed that animal has what appears to be an old, healed boat strike to carapace and resulting hind flipper paralysis.
02/28/2019 Because animal was deemed medically non-releasable, it was transferred to Mote for care until permanent placement is determined.
04/03/2019 Agave was humanely euthanized due to a poor medical prognosis.
