05/30/2018  Turtle was seen floating in a basin at Blenker Marina near the mouth of the Manatee River.  Animal was recovered by an FWC officer and transported to Mote for assesment and rehabilitation.  Initial exam revealed a healed wound (possible past boat strike) to the rear section of the carapace.  Blood work and x-rays were done.  Crush Jr. will be given subcutaneous fluids daily until eating.

05/31/2018  Crush Jr. foraged and ate entire diet offered today!

06/29/2018  Crush Jr. continues to eat well and is very active.  Still experiencing occasional buoyancy issues.  Increased the depth of rehab. pool to full and will monitor any bouyancy changes.  

07/13/2018  Crush Jr. is doing well.  Buoyancy issues are much improved, and he is regularly able to sit flat on the bottom of the tank.  Continuing to monitor blood work.

08/03/2018  Due to an elevation in the white blood cell count, Crush Jr. is once again receiving oral antibiotics.

09/05/2018 Crush Jr. was transported by FWC to Honeymoon Island for release!
