06/16/2020 Elsa was released off Marco Island near Naples, FL!
11/29/2019 Turtle-124 (Lulu) was rescued by New England Aquarium near Linnell in Brewster, MA presenting as a cold stun case and with fibropapilloma tumors. During Turtle-124's time at NEAq fibropapilloma tumor removal was performed.
12/27/2019 Turtle-124 was transferred to Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium's Rehabilitation Hospital by plane for continued care. Here, Turtle-124 was deemed "Elsa".
12/29/2019 Elsa has been started on injectable iron, antibiotic, and fluids. So far no interest in eating.
01/31/2020 Elsa has been eating very well, water level was increased to full, and has been taken off of injectable iron and antibiotics to be placed on oral iron and antibiotics.
03/19/2020 Elsa had fibropapilloma removal surgery and is officially tumor free! Now we have to wait to see if any grow back or any new ones grow before she can be considered for release.
04/24/2020 Elsa is still being monitored for any regrowths of the fibropapilloma tumors.
05/06/2020 Elsa had two suspicious masses removed.
06/11/2020 Elsa continues to do well. No tumor regrowths have occured since May. She will be considered for release soon.
06/16/2020 Elsa was released off of Marco Island near Naples, FL.
