Released

December 2022 Turtles stranded in Cape Cod as part of a cold stun event when temperatures dropped. They were triaged and slowly warmed back up at New England Aquarium. All turtles were started on subcutaneous fluids, vitamin injections, and injectable antibiotics.

01/02/2023 Turtles were transported to Sarasota by a volunteer pilot coordinated by Turtles Fly Too. Animals were transported to Mote where they were examined, weighed, and situated in rehab. pools in shallow water.

01/07/2023 All turtles have eaten at least a small amount of capelin, shrimp, and squid since arriving at Mote. They are still receiving injectable antibiotics every couple days and are actively swimming for most of the day.

01/19/2023 The 12 cold-stun Kemp's from Cape Cod are doing well. They are all very active and eating an increasing assortment of seafood including capelin, squid, shrimp, and herring. The depths of their rehab. pools have been increased to full to allow them more room to swim.

01/28/2023 Jamie's blood work has improved, so he is no longer on any antibiotics.

02/10/2023 Beth, Rip, Kayce, Jamie, and Tate were transported to Ormond Beach for release on the east coast!
