07/16/2018 Turtle was found floating by a fisherman in Manatee County near Kingfish boat ramp. Exam findings indicate the turtle had some sort of previous trauma to the back of the carapace and was therefore unable to dive. Blood work was run and Kobia was put in a shallow rehab. pool. Turtle will be given subcutaneous fluids until eating.
07/18/2018 Kobia ate when offered food today.
08/03/2018 Kobia is actively foraging for all prey items. Oftentimes he is still positively buoyant, but he is able to rest flat on the bottom of the tank at other times.
08/16/2018 Kobia is starting to spend more time flat on the bottom of the tank and is floating less.
08/29/2018 Kobia and Ms. Pam were transported by FWC to Clearwater Marine Aquarium to open up tank space for other rehab. animals at Mote.
