4/5/16 Animal was found floating near a shrimp boat 13 miles offshore. Rescued and transported to Mote. Weight: 94.7 kg. Animal was dry-docked over night and given subcutaneous fluids because she was too weak to be put in water.
4/6/16 Peyton was put in a tank at low water level. No interest in eating.
4/12/16 Peyton ate 3 clams today!
4/16/16 Animal continues to eat a small amount daily but has yet to defecate. Started on a GI stimulant. Water level was raised to half full.
5/9/16 Peyton is finally starting to defecate regularly
5/19/16 Turtle's diet and water level were increased as it continues to defecate regularly and swim normally
6/2/16 Peyton continues to eat well and defecate regularly, even with the GI stimulant.
6/13/16 Peyton was released by Mote staff and interns at Lido Beach this morning
