11/24/2016  Animal was spotted floating offshore Anna Maria Island by some fishermen who rescued the turtle.

11/25/2016  Pilgrim was transported to Mote.  Diagnostics included blood work and radiographs.  Animal has no obvious injuries, but is very weak, underweight, and has an elevated white blood cell count.  Was started on subcutaneous fluids and injectable antibiotics.  Pilgrim is in a rehab. tank at low water level and currently has no interest in eating.

12/06/2016  Pilgrim is still very inactive and has no interest in eating.

12/17/2016  Animal still has no interest in eating on his own, but is keeping down food that is force fed.  Pilgrim is recieving two injectable antibiotics, fluids, and a GI stimulant. 

12/23/2016  Pilgrim is still being force fed his daily diet, but is more active throughtout the day.  Water depth was increased. 

01/07/2017  Animal's blood work is much improved so antibiotics were discontinued.  Pilgrim is still not foraging on his own, but staff is able assist feed him and he is gaining weight.

01/24/2017  Pilgrim was found unresponsive on the bottom of the tank this morning.  Animal is now dry docked and receiving injectable fluids and antibiotics. 

01/30/2017   Due to lack of improvement and response to recent medical treatments, Pilgrim was humanley euthanized.
