12/22/2020 Turtle "234" stranded as part of the Cold Stun event in New England. 234 was brought to National Marine Life Center where it was then transfered to Mote Marine's Sea Turtle Hospital by a group called Turtles Fly Too, a non-profit organization of volunteer private pilots. Here the turtle was deemed "Ruby Sue". Ruby Sue was given fluids and placed in a rehabilitation pool.
12/30/2020 Ruby Sue has been doing very well, eating and defecating regularly.
01/07/2021 Ruby Sue continues to do well.
01/17/2021 Ruby Sue continues to do well. Ruby Sue was taken off all antibiotics and the anti-fungal.
02/01/2021 Ruby Sue was medically cleared for release but will spend a few days in a dolphin rehabilitation tank to slowly get used to colder water to match the current ocean temperature.
02/08/2021 Blue Spruce, Francis, Catherine, Ruby Sue, and Margo were transported and released by Mote staff on the east coast of Florida off of New Smyrna Beach.
