02/01/2018 Animal was found floating and lethargic in a boat basin. Was transported to Brevard Zoo Sea Turtle Healing Center for triage. Animal had blood work run and was given subcutaneous fluids, an antibiotic injection, and a vitamin B injection.
02/12/2018 "Sprout" was transferred by FWC to Mote for continued rehabilitation and to make space at Brevard Zoo's Sea Turtle Healing Center for new patients.
02/13/2018 Sprout foraged his entire diet offered today.
02/27/2018 Animal is very active and is eating well. All blood work is normal except for the creatine kinase level, which is potentially due to animal pacing/swimming along the sides of the tank.
03/13/2018 Sprout was medically cleared for release! Mote staff transferred Packer and Sprout to FWC who released them near New Smyrna Beach on the east coast.
Mote Aquarium is likely to be busy this week, with many timed-ticket entry slots selling out. Please purchase your tickets in advance to guarantee entry.
