Mote thanks community for successful Giving Challenge Sep 1-2, 2015

The annual community-wide Giving Challenge on Sept. 1 and 2 raised vital funds for hundreds of Southwest Florida nonprofits. Mote Marine Laboratory is thanking the community for making more than 200 gifts totaling $25,200 to the Lab online, along with several generous offline gifts. Mote staff plan to tally the total funds in the coming weeks, and this year's total will be matched up to $40,000 thanks to two generous, anonymous donors.

The 2015 Giving Challenge was made possible by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and The Patterson Foundation with support from the William G. and Marie Selby Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Manatee Community Foundation, and the Herald-Tribune Media Group.

Mote — an independent, nonprofit marine science institution — offers a huge THANKS to everyone who supported the Lab and, in turn, gave back to the sea.
