About Kaitlyn

As Marketing & Public Relations Manager, Kaitlyn Fusco is responsible for the strategic planning for Mote’s overall marketing and communications strategy. This includes working with Communications Coordinators Sean Stover and Olivia Cameron to write press releases and coordinate media inquiries with local, regional and national outlets to continually raise awareness for Mote research, education and conservation programs. Kaitlyn is also responsible for Mote’s paid marketing strategy.

Kaitlyn is an award-winning writer with a strong interest in marine life and conservation. It is her goal to use her skills to leave a positive impact on the world. She is skilled at distilling complex scientific information for public benefit, and also writing with creativity and verve.

Kaitlyn rejoined Mote’s Community Relations & Communications team in March 2023. She previously held the role of Public Relations Manager from 2015-2017. Her time at Mote ended sooner than she had hoped due to a necessary relocation for her husband’s medical school training. She is thrilled her husband has now completed training, and she is overjoyed to rejoin her Mote family.

She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Central Florida. Most recently, she served as Associate Publisher of Central Florida Lifestyle publications and Communications Manager at The Florida Aquarium.
