She attended Ohio University where she majored in marine, freshwater and environmental biology and completed an internship in Clearwater as a water quality technician and aquarist. After graduating she packed up her husband, cat, mice and fish and moved to Florida.
She began volunteering at Mote in aquarium husbandry as soon as she could. Now as an employee at Mote she works with many different animals, some of which include sharks, jellyfish, seahorses, axolotls, cuttlefish and many other fish and invertebrates.
