Erin joined Mote as a Staff Chemist in the Ocean Acidification Department after completing her M.S. in Chemical Oceanography at the University of South Florida. Her graduate research focused on improving the quality of coastal ocean acidification monitoring through developments of new lab based measurements and simple handheld instruments. Now at Mote, Erin oversees the labs and interns in the Ocean Acidification department, conducts research projects on ocean acidification and redtide mitigation, and participates in monthly monitoring of the water quality around Sarasota Bay with the Chemical & Physical Ecology Department.
