Kaitlyn is originally from Chicago but has known for most of her adult life that her true love was in the marine science field. After graduating from college in South Carolina she joined Mote’s intern program in the Education and Animal Hospital departments. Kaitlyn spent over a year as a marine mammal trainer, but soon recognized that her true passion was in bringing knowledge about marine life to the public. In pursuit of this realization, started employing her passion as an Educational Instructor at a highly respected zoo in Chicago.
Kaitlyn is excited to be back at Mote where she first fell in love with informal education. Her enthusiastic personality brings marine animals and the world behind marine science to life during Mote’s educational summer camps and school programs. Kaitlyn enjoys seeing the excitement in the students’ eyes and the thrill they get from learning about the wonderful world beneath the water.
