Sara Krusenstjerna brings to Mote twenty-five years as a nonprofit executive with comprehensive philanthropic and organizational development expertise. Skilled in all areas of fundraising, Sara specializes in building strategic partnerships and developing major and planned giving programs. She has held a range of leadership roles in private and public institutions, and is especially passionate about working with donors and building community.
Sara’s multi-disciplinary background includes the arts, education, social services, business, law and mediation, and she has traveled extensively, pursuing a variety of multi-cultural interests. This breadth of experience has fostered her abiding belief in the power of philanthropy to positively impact our world. Sara is honored to work with donors in finding meaningful opportunities to realize their philanthropic goals in support of Mote’s mission.
Sara is a New Yorker with longtime ties to Sarasota, her other favorite home. She has held executive fundraising positions with the Hermitage Artist Retreat and New College Foundation, and has served as a consultant with the Gulf Coast Community Foundation and numerous area organizations. She is a member of the New York Bar, Charitable Gift Planners of Southwest Florida, and the Leadership Sarasota County Class of 2009. Sara feels privileged to join the Mote team in serving our beautiful community and our precious seas.
