The heat is on. Our oceans need your help now.

Intense heat and disease outbreaks are assaulting coral reefs, the rainforests of the sea.  Reef sharks are declining worldwide due to overfishing. Seagrasses—food for manatees and shelter for many animals—have taken a catastrophic hit in  key Florida habitats. Our oceans are facing grand challenges that are pushing species and ecosystems into extinction.

Help us give them relief

At Mote Marine Laboratory, cool heads prevail.

We use  rigorous marine science and technology to address burning questions and uncover ocean-saving solutions.

Support something cool: Ocean-saving science at Mote

Whether  Mote scientists  are rescuing thousands of endangered corals from this summer’s heat, breeding corals for heat tolerance, traveling the world to turn shark research into conservation, laying the groundwork for seagrass restoration, or championing the need for better water quality, science is always the coolest device in our toolbox.
