Mollusks, sea urchins, crustaceans like shrimp and crab, boxfishes, sea hares, starfish and eels are all on the menu for Napoleon wrasses.

Throughout the Indo-Pacific region, Napoleon wrasses can be found near steep, outer reef slopes, channels and lagoons.

Details:

Napoleon wrasses can range in color from blue-green to purple-blue. These wrasses’ foreheads have a knob that protrudes past their face, giving them one of their nicknames: the humphead wrasse. On their face is a green, iridescent scrawled pattern. They have large lips, small eyes and a forked tail.
