Whether it’s a family-friendly run on Siesta Key Beach or a formal black-tie gala, Mote has a variety of signature events that support our mission each year.
Sharktoberfest
Sharktoberfest guests will experience Mote Aquarium as they never have before, enjoying live entertainment, food stations, merchandise vendors and special experiences provided by Mote’s Education department. The event will feature local and regional breweries that will provide samples of their staple selections alongside unique, seasonal brews.
Oceanic Evening
Oceanic Evening is Mote’s signature black-tie gala reaching over 500 individuals in our community. During this annual event, Mote shares its mission to conduct world-class research, conserve our natural resources and promote science education with current and prospective supporters.
Mote-ivational Mondays
Every January, Mote hosts its Science Lecture Series featuring Mote scientists who share their world-class research on Monday evenings.
Party on the Pass
Join Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium for Party on the Pass—a casual night of good food, good fun and goodwill to benefit Mote’s marine animal rescue, rehabilitation and release programs.
Guests will enjoy lite bites at food stations from the area’s best restaurants as they party the night away.
Attire is coastal casual.
Farm to Fillet
Please join us under shady oaks for a delicious and inspiring experience at Mote Aquaculture Research Park. Guests will enjoy a delicious lunch and exclusive, behind-the-scenes tours of Mote’s rapidly growing research park.
Coffee with a Scientist
Mote supporters in Boca Grande and around Charlotte Harbor will have the opportunity to gather live with a Mote scientist, enjoy coffee and a light breakfast, and hear the most current research being done in their respective fields of study.
These events are held live at the Boca Grande Community Center.
Run for the Turtles
Run, walk or crawl to support sea turtle conservation and research. This Run is the major fundraiser for the Sea Turtle Conservation & Research Program at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium.
