Biography:

Lauren Hughey brings more than 20 years of marketing and fundraising experience with Global Fortune 100 companies, top-tier universities, and local non-profits to Mote. From her first job as an intern in the White House to her work as the director of donor engagement at the Community Foundation of Sarasota, Lauren has focused on positively impacting her community in every endeavor.

Although her path to fundraising has been nontraditional, her entrepreneurial background helps Lauren bring creativity and a holistic approach to fundraising that results in unique, impactful projects and sustainable partnerships.

Lauren had the great joy of taking a leading role in opening the 1.1 million square foot University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital facility. Shortly after wrapping up the hospital’s $75 million capital campaign, her team began to lay the foundation for the recently completed $1 billion Michigan Medicine campaign.

Lauren’s passion is matching donors to their interests and forming genuine relationships that last well beyond the initial projects on which they were built. One of her favorite aspects of fundraising is delving into complex science with a donor and watching their astonishment and commitment grow as they begin to grasp the impact of the research.
