05/10/2023 Turtle was found in the surf in Collier County. Animal was extremely lethargic and underweight. Transported to Mote for triage and rehabilitation. Janice was started on injectable antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids due to low white blood cell count and hypoglycemia.
05/20/2023 Janice is still very lethargic and is being kept in very shallow water. Has shown no interest in eating since the day after arrival. Continues to receive injectable antibiotics and subcutaneous fluids.
05/26/2023 Unfortuantely, despite best medical efforts, Janice passed away overnight.
