Donating stock directly to Mote Marine Laboratory is an effective way to avoid capital gains tax while making a charitable tax deductible contribution. To help you facilitate a gift of stock, please use the following three simple steps:
Step 1 - Initiate a stock transfer
Securities can be gifted to Mote via electronic transfer (in which your broker transfers shares using Mote’s DTC number). It is necessary for you to contact your broker to initiate the transfer. You can obtain Mote’s DTC number by calling Andria Piekarz, Chief Development Officer, at (941) 388-4441 ext. 352 or by completing Step 2.
Step 2 - Notify Mote by submitting the form below
Step 3 - Send the securities to Mote Marine Laboratory
When you complete Step 2, you will receive an email from Mote with transfer instructions for your broker.
