Biography:

​Erika, a ​Sarasota native, obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the ​University of South Florida and interned with ​Whale Shark Mexico, researching whale shark populations in ​La Paz, Mexico. She furthered her education by earning a Master of Professional Science degree, specializing in marine biology. During her studies, she contributed to a sea turtle conservation program and volunteered at a coral larval ecology laboratory, where she raised corals for research that would be outplanted in Fort Lauderdale waters. Currently, Erika maintains a focus on animal husbandry for fish and invertebrates.
