Biography:
Erika, a Sarasota native, obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida and interned with Whale Shark Mexico, researching whale shark populations in La Paz, Mexico. She furthered her education by earning a Master of Professional Science degree, specializing in marine biology. During her studies, she contributed to a sea turtle conservation program and volunteered at a coral larval ecology laboratory, where she raised corals for research that would be outplanted in Fort Lauderdale waters. Currently, Erika maintains a focus on animal husbandry for fish and invertebrates.
