Biography:

Gabrielle D’Alonzo is a Coral Reef Ecosystems Staff Biologist at Mote’s Elizabeth Moore International Center for Coral Reef Research & Restoration on Summerland Key, FL. Gabrielle was a Coral Restoration Intern during the summer of 2021 after receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science and Biology from the University of Miami. Her previous experience and interest in coral and related ecosystems began as an Undergraduate research assistant for the Cnidarian Immunology Laboratory. There she conducted her honors thesis on microbiome differences in disease inoculated Caribbean Acroporids. Now at Mote, Brielle assists in reef monitoring projects that incorporate structure-from-motion photogrammetry to document and quantify outplanting success along with the impacts on reef communities.
