Staff Chemist

Kathleen joined the Chemical & Physical Ecology team in 2023 as a Staff Chemist after working in Aquarium Husbandry and Environmental Education in Georgia and New York. They participate in red tide mitigation experiments, monthly monitoring of Sarasota Bay water quality, and other environmental projects under NELAC standards. They primarily run analyses for particulate nitrogen/particulate carbon utilizing a FLASH series Elemental Analyzer, color and chromophoric disolved organic matter (CDOM) using UV-VIS Spectrophotometry, conductivity, and chlorophyll by fluorimetry. Kathleen was also a Fish & Invertebrates Husbandry Intern at Mote during the Spring of 2021.
