11/17/2025 This subadult turtle was found roughly one mile off Siesta Beach, Sarasota County. The animal was caudally buoyant with the left side high. Upon intake, the turtle was given fluids and is now in low water.
12/19/2025 “Lil Buoy” continues to improve and is currently on an oral antibiotic. Water level remain low and is being gradually raised as his condition improves.
01/13/2026 We are seeing improvements in “Lil Buoy’s” condition. She is now on an oral antibiotic to target potential problematic bacteria in her body. Since the change to this antibiotic, we have observed less buoyancy. She can now rest flat on the bottom of her tank. Her water is raised to full. She is foraging
