1/22 This turtle was transferred to Mote Marine Lab from Volusia County Marine Science Center, where it was initially taken after being picked up on the east coast of Florida during the recent cold stun event. The turtle has several small papilloma’s (tumors) and some slight abnormalities in bloodwork. It is eating and swimming well.
2/24 Turtle has done well through surgery to remove the pap tumors and blood values have normalized. Blizzard II was transported across the state to the east coast today for release along with Chai and Thermic.
