Mote currently has eight species of jellyfish that we care for at the Aquarium. We always have lots of mouths to feed, anywhere between 150-1,000 daily. Jellyfish primarily feed on small zooplankton out in the wild by utilizing millions of specialized cells called nematocysts found on their tentacles. What we learn from our jellyfish could one day help us better understand and protect our coastal waters.
