Details:

These snails have marbled shells with purple-brown spiral bands. They prey on other invertebrates and protect themselves by closing the opening to their shell with a hard structure called an “operculum.” Females lay egg capsules that hatch into swimming larvae, which settle on the seafloor to develop into adults.
