Bottlenose wedgefish eat benthic invertebrates like marine worms, crustaceans such as shrimp, shellfish and crab, and smaller fishes.

Range & Habitat:

Along the coasts of Australia and Southeast Asia and throughout the Indo-Pacific, bottlenose wedgefish inhabit coastal soft bottom environments near coral reef colonies.

Details:

Bottlenose wedgefish have a similar shape to guitarfish, with a long triangular face, wide wings and large dorsal fin. Along the edges of their body are white spots, giving them their nickname “white-spotted wedgefish”. Their eyes sit on the top of their body while their mouth is found on the underside.
