Range & Habitat:
These Pacific fish inhabit rocky reefs, kelp beds, eelgrass beds and sand bottoms in the eastern North Pacific, from Alaska's Aleutian Islands, Alaska to La Jolla, southern California.
Details:
Female kelp greenlings are brownish-gray and dotted with small, red-brown to gold spots, with yellow-orange fins. Males usually are gray to olive-brown, with blue patches on the front half of the body ringed by small, reddish brown spots.
