Lori's anthias feed on zooplankton, fish eggs and crustacean larvae.

Range & Habitat:

In the eastern Indian Ocean and the west-central Pacific Ocean, Lori's anthias inhabit outer reef slopes, caves, steep drop-offs and the underside of ledges.

Details:

Lori’s anthias are pinkish-purple in color with bright red vertical bars running down their back. Like other anthias species, Lori’s anthias  begin life as females and can transition into males as they mature. These fish often live in harems, where a dominant male leads a group of females. If the male dies, the largest female will transition into a male.
