Northern pine snakes eat mice, cotton rats, rabbits, pocket gophers, birds and their eggs.

Range & Habitat:

Throughout Florida, excluding the very southwestern region of the state, New Jersey, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Kentucky and Tennessee, northern pine snakes can be found in sandhills, longleaf pine forests, oak woodlands and other dry areas with scrub.

Details:

Northern pine snakes have large thick bodies that are tan in color with black-brown blotches. These blotches are more distinct towards their tail and their coloring can range from super pale to intense.
