Orbiculate batfish eat smaller fishes, algae and invertebrates like shrimp and crab.

Range & Habitat:

In the Pacific and Indian Oceans, these fish can be found in near mangroves and coral reef communities.

Details:

Their flat, disc-like bodies allow them to remain close to the ocean floor, where they blend in with their surroundings. They have silver bodies, yellow tails, black fins and two opaque black stripes running through their face and gill slits.Towards the back of their body are irregular black dots scattered all the way to the base of their tail.
