Peninsula newts consume water fleas, snails, beetle larvae, leaf litter and any small invertebrate they can find.

Range & Habitat:

In Florida's peninsula, these newts can be found in small bodies of freshwater like ponds, ditches, marshes and lakes.

Details:

Peninsula newts are brown on top and yellow below with irregular spotting on both sides. Similarly to lizards, these newts have two arms, two legs and a long tail. They also have copper colored eyes with a small black line running through their pupil.
