This fish is commonly found in reef communities in the western Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico. They can live in both salt and brackish water environments.

Details:

Puddingwife wrasses evolve in appearance as they mature. Once reaching full maturity, they become yellow with bright teal horizontal stripes down their sides. A dark spot can be found at the top of the fish near the dorsal spine.
