In the Indo-West Pacific Ocean, red emperor snappers inhabit can be found in shallow coral reef communities, sand flats and estuaries.

Details:

As young, red emperor snappers are white with broad black bars across their body. As they age, the band pattern thins out and turns to red. They also have red eyes and a forked tail.
