Thimble jellyfish grow to be between one to two inches (13-20 millimeters) tall.

Thimble jellyfish eat plankton, small marine organisms and the larvae of other species.

Range & Habitat:

In the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic Ocean, thimble jellies can live at various depths. They're most common in warmer, shallow waters.

Details:

Thimble jellyfish have a distinct, dome-shaped appearance, making them easy to spot in the water. They have only four short tentacles, in contrast to larger jellyfish species with longer, more numerous tentacles. Their mouth is located at the center of the underside, where food is ingested after being stunned by their tentacles.
