Trying to spot greenlings? Look at the dorsal fin on the upper back. It's long and it has a dip in the middle, so it looks a bit like the letter "m."

They can eat other fishes and crustaceans, along with mollusks and worms.

Found in Japan to Puget Sound, Washington

Details:

These small fish spend time around coastal algae, rocks, pilings and eelgrass beds. They can be light greenish brown with hints of red, dark blotches or bars and white spots.
