These crabs inhabit silty and sandy areas and rocky-sandy areas around reefs in eastern Pacific waters from Humboldt Bay, California to Bahia Magdalena, Baja California Mexico.

Details:

The yellow rock crab has a rounded, somewhat flattened carapace (shell). They have two short antennae, black-tipped claws and eight walking legs. They can range from yellow to brown.
