1/11 Cold-stunned turtle was brought to the hospital by staff from the Sarasota Dolphin Research Program. Program staff found the turtle as they were performing dolphin surveys in the Bay. Burke weighs 5.2 kg with a carapace length of 35.3 cm.
1/14 Turtle is doing well and eating, sharing a 71-degree F medical pool with Squeaky and Scooter.

Note: More than 2,000 sea turtles statewide have been affected by record-low January water temperatures. State and federal agencies, along with nonprofit organizations like Mote are responding to this mass stranding by taking in sick sea turtles.
