Final Disposition
Released May 18, 2006 from Lido Beach

This turtle was rescued by a dredge trawler off Anna Maria Island. It had an old injury to a front flipper and a newer fracture to its caudal carapace. It has been started on antibiotics and antifungals and the wounds have been cleaned and debrided. 
12/4 Dealing with infection in the fracture site, but turtle is alert and active. 
12/9 Turtle is still not eating, but is otherwise active. 
12/16 Turtle has finally begun to eat and wounds are healing. 
12/20 Turtle is now eating very well. 
1/2/06 Turtle is gaining weight and healing well. 
1/13 Continuing to do very well. 
1/24 Carapace is now beginning to heal and turtle continues to gain weight. 
2/1 Continuing to do very well. 
2/11 Slowly healing and eating well. 
2/22 Turtle is continuing to gain weight and heal. 
3/5 More of the same. 
3/12 Turtle continues to do very well. 
3/22 Turtle is still doing very well and healing well. Should be releasable as soon as carapace heals more. 
3/29 Continuing to do very well. 
4/11 Turtle continues healing well. 
4/24 Still doing very well. Will probably be ready for release in about a month or so. 
5/2 Continuing to do well. 
5/12 Turtle is doing very well and will likely be releasing it within two weeks. 
5/18 Turtle was released this morning from Lido Beach. It swam away strongly.
