09/11/2025 “Ellie” was admitted into rehabilitation with a heavy epibiota load. There appears to be an injury to the tail that has caused an impacted colon. Rehab staff successfully removed impacted material. She will continue to be monitored closely and epibiota load will be removed. She will be checked for any other visible injuries.
10/21/2025 “Ellie” has passed impacted shells on her own and continues to defecate normally. Rehabilitation staff successfully removed the bulk epibiota on her carapace. She is an excellent forager and her diet was increased to help her get back to a healthy body condition.
11/07/2025 She is eating well and defecating on her own. For a period of time, she received daily iron to help supplement her diet. Her health continues to improve and currently receives vitamin supplements.
