Felicity upon arrival
8/29 “Felicity” was found in the ICW by an officer with Florida’s Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The turtle was floating at the surface and listing to one side unable to dive. Mote responded and assisted the officer in capturing the turtle and putting it on a boat for transport. Once at Mote, the turtle was given fluids and offered a small amount of food. Felicity ate immediately.
9/15 Eating well but continues to float to one side.
10/10 Turtle is now on medication for an infection and is not eating very well. We will continue to monitor closely.
11/28 Felicity is eating well and gaining weight and we expect to release this animal in the near future.
12/16 Turtle was released today.
