06/07/2018 Animal was found floating 1/3 mile west of Longboat Pass in the Gulf of Mexico. Exam findings revealed neurologic issues and lethargy consistent with possible Red Tide toxicity. Blood work was done Intrepid was given subcutaneous fluids and placed in a rehab. tank in shallow water until he’s stronger.
06/08/2018 Intrepid ate his entire diet off feeding tongs today!
06/10/2018 Intrepid began foraging for his food today!
06/13/2018 Turtle continues to forage for all food offered. He is more more active and the depth of his tank is being slowly increased.
06/29/2018 Depth of rehab. tank is now increased to full. Intrepid continues to eat well and blood work is improving.
07/13/2018 Intrepid has lost a little weight since his stranding date. Plan to increase his diet and recheck weight and blood in a week or two.
07/27/2018 Intrepid was satellite tagged and released at Lido Beach today! You can track his journey back at sea at www.seaturtle.org.
